On Wednesday, August 23, EBONY Cover Star Nas, contemporary artist Futura, and FARFETCH—the leading global platform for the luxury fashion industry—hosted a dinner to launch FARFETCH BEAT 010, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. The dinner was held at Garden of Amant, a non-profit arts organization in Brooklyn, New York, with a DJ set by Stretch Armstrong.

Cocktails and a three-course dinner menu, inspired by Nas’ chosen tracks, were curated by Ghetto Gastro—a Bronx-born culinary collective from Jon Gray, Pierre Serrao, and Lester Walker.

The "One Mic" emcee created an exclusive 12on12 vinyl collection featuring the 12 most influential Hip Hop tracks of the past five decades. When you think about the celebration of Hip Hop turning 50, Nas definitely comes to mind. The work he’s put in over the years paved the way for the conscious rappers of today.

Futura was tapped because of his artistic contribution to the culture over the years. His influence is interwoven into the fabric of the genre, and for this project he provided artistic direction and contributed his painting “FUTURE LOOK FOR FLASH” for the cover art, depicting a robotic DJ scratching on turntables.

FARFETCH BEAT is a concept retail series that introduces exclusive product experiences to a global audience. This tenth iteration celebrates the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and the genre's rich history and global impact with the collaboration between Nas, Futura, and lifestyle brand 12on12.

The vinyl records are available for purchase now at FARFETCH.com and in-store at Stadium Goods.
